Top Navigation and Maps Apps on iOS in New Zealand: Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the navigation and maps app category on iOS in New Zealand demonstrated diverse performance trends among its top contenders, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a steady presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 3.3K and 5K. Active users remained robust, peaking at around 326K in March.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw weekly downloads start at 2.3K and gradually decline to just over 1K by the end of March. Despite this, active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase to approximately 12.6K in the final week.

Google Earth experienced consistent downloads, averaging around 1K per week. Active users showed some fluctuations but ended the quarter with a rise to 7.9K.

MapXplorer: Navigation, Radar exhibited varied performance. Weekly downloads peaked at 742 in January, while weekly revenue saw a notable increase to $250 in early March. Active users reached a high of 484 in January.

Polarsteps Travel experienced an upward trend in downloads, culminating in 638 by the end of March. Active users reached a peak of over 10K in early March before a gradual decrease.
